Maragaret Kirehu is working this farm, inherited from her mother. She is very attentive to produce good quality coffee and makes a lot of energy to improve processing directly on the farm land.
The farm is located in the vicinity of Nyeri, 150 km north of Nairobi. It covers 20 ha, 10 ha are for coffee trees. In addition to coffee Margaret produces different fruits, avocados, bananas and macadamia nuts which are easily sold in the local and international market.
Margaret recently started coffee farming and processing in 2018. Growing up, she saw the passion that her mother had for coffee farming. Many times, she assisted her mother at the farm. After Margaret’s mother passed on, Margaret decided to maintain the coffee farm in honor of her mother. Since then she has rehabilitated the form in blocks and is now pulping her own coffee to have more control of her product.
